Only those who travail in prayers, prevail in life. Every believer has a glorious destiny. To attain a glorious destiny you need to contend for it. One way is on the altar of prayer.
I Corinthians 16:9
Every enemy of destiny is subdued by prayer.
Prayer is the spiritual control room of all happenings in our life. It’s where output is determined. When you’re in the control room, you are in charge.
Prayer invites God to intervene in human affairs.
God is committed to appearing every time His people are gathered. Matt.18:18-20
Prayer is conference with God.
By prayer contact the natural man is turned supernatural.
In prayer we are enabled to touch any issue of concern and demand for heaven’s intervention.
The moment two or three are gathered in His name a quorum is formed and God is set to act.
Prayer is place of authority.
In prayer we exercise authority in heaven’s behalf. Gen.18:19
In prayer we partner with God.
In prayer we confer with God what a privilege to pray.
Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months.
And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit.
There is a kind of prayer that provokes the release of signs and wonders. It is not necessarily long drawn, neither must it be accomplished with shouting. The prayer that avails much is heart-seated. It is this type of prayer that releases tremendous power, which is dynamic in its working. That is how The Amplified Bible translates James 5:16:
…The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its working].
It is this type of prayer that triggers off the miraculous. When you pray sometimes, even as the prayer is leaving your lips you know it is nothing but a religious rite, because it is not arriving at God’s throne.
But when your whole being is involved in praying, you actually succeed in arresting heaven’s attention. It is not really how long you spend praying that matters, but the content of your prayer.
